at-home MTC Week 2

Nov. 14, 2020

Hello all my friends and family!

This week has been an exhausting week. I have had almost every waking moment filled with classes, workshops, devotionals, TRCs, personal study, and companionship study. With all that going on it’s been hard to find time to even eat lunch!

However, all of this is to better prepare me to teach, so I know I can handle it. Me and my companion Elder Stewart have been practicing with the TRCs and have gotten fairly comfortable with teaching lessons to the person’s needs rather than to the lesson’s outline. It’s so cool to teach through the influence of the spirit. I have been able to explain things in simple ways that I don’t think I would have thought of otherwise. Me and my companion also teach so in sync sometimes that it scares me, almost as if we have the exact same train of thought!

Me and my district have gotten up to lots of hijinks while in class. All in good fun though, nothing distracting. Generally we do silly little things like all matching tie colors and changing whenever we have a small 5-10 minute water break. Or removing all of the vowels in our names on zoom. We have even gotten some of the teachers in on it!
In short, it’s been a fun week, choc full of things to do and be done, but still progressing forward.

Looking forward to getting out to the field and getting to sink my teeth into the work set out for me!

Sincerely,
Elder Johnson
